Our birth videos are an incredibly special creation which will capture that magical moment when your little one comes into the world. What women experience during childbirth is so deep and internal an experience that often it is remembered as a dream-like haze rather than in clear images. The birth of Ahnalia was a beautiful thing to be a part of. Rose went into labour late in the evening and by early morning, after a short and intense few hours in the Levin birthing unit, she was brought into the world; welcomed by her older sister Bella and close friends and family. The strength and determination of Mum was evident from the outset, and the tender and loving support of her good friend and midwife was a secondary aspect of this birth that I found particularly striking as an observer. Rose still watches her birth video regularly and one day little Ahnalia will be able to see how she came into the world, with so much love and support all around her.
This was the best gift I have ever & no doubt will ever receive in my life. I have probably watched it over 100 times and I still shed a tear when I see the first second my beautiful baby enters this world and watching my loved ones see her for the first time too is priceless. This is something I’ll treasure forever.

What does a birth videographer do and why should I hire one? Someone who specializes in capturing birth with video is able to capture moments during labor & delivery that you would otherwise lament not being able to remember (the support of your birth team, the exchanges between you and your partner, the moment you meet your baby, siblings meeting baby, and more). If this sounds like something you want captured, contact me to chat about your birth plans and how we can best capture the story for you and your family.
I would love to have a birth videographer, but I am concerned about privacy. I work hard to capture angles that tell the full story without showing the graphic nature of birth and understand the need to keep some (or all) images and video private. I strive to create a family-friendly version of the birth film that each family feels comfortable to share privately or publicly depending on your desires.
How far do you travel? Most births are within 1 hour of the Kapiti Coast/Wellington region, and have no additional travel fees. For out-of-town births, we can create a plan that may include grabbing a last-minute plane ticket at the first signs of labor or coming out and staying for an extended period of time. Feel free to contact us today to go over the details of travel for birth coverage.
What types of births can you attend? I can film at home, birth center, or hospital births (even c-sections), however it is important that you verify the policies in your particular hospitals to find out what they allow.
When will I receive the finished product? I like to spend plenty of time working on each film to ensure that the music and editing compliments you perfectly. The finished video will be ready within a month after your birth.
When should I plan to book? As soon as possible! If you want to secure your date, the sooner the better!
How do I book? Please email me once you know you want to book. We will then plan a meeting time so we can discuss your birth plan, and get to know each other. I will bring over a contract for you to fill out and once I receive your signed contract and your deposit, your date is booked!
