Meet Ray!!!…and let’s talk the official stuff.

Ray began her life as a musician and studied both at Kings College London and then a further post grad in Electro-acoustic composition at NZSM. Video making was a secondary skill that Ray honed and developed as Creative Director for humanitarian documentary company, Stomp It Out Productions where she went on to win Best Doco award for her film, Undercover. Ray lives with her husband and animal family in Te Horo at their farm sanctuary, Soulhaven.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Here are our terms of trade. It’s all reasonably standard, but if you’re working with us, you should probably take some time to read through so we’re on the same page.
1. WHAT SOME THINGS MEAN
“I” means Rachel at Soulhaven. I go by Ray most of the time.
“You” means the client who is getting the videos.
“Raw footage” is what comes straight out of the camera. It’s a mess, you don’t want it, and I don’t share it unless this has been discussed, arranged and signed off by me prior to filming.
“Shoot day” means the day or days where we meet onsite, I bring all my gear, and we film stuff!
“Editing” is where the magic happens. I lock myself in a room and am not allowed out until your video is done.
3. RIGHTS AND OWNERSHIP
What you own
You own the final video/images and you are free to do whatever you want with it.
As such it’s also your responsibility to keep your files safe. You can do this by downloading them and storing them on your own computer or social media account.
What Soulhaven owns
All the raw, edited and final video/images; all images and sound are owned forever by Soulhaven.
As such I am free to to use them for my own social media and marketing purposes. I will respect any previously discussed privacy concerns. If you have any concerns about this please talk to me.
While I endevour to store the raw working files safely, accidents can happen and I can’t guarantee their safety. Please note once again, raw footage is owned by Soulhaven and is not shared unless discussed, arranged and signed off by me prior to filming.
Real Estate Photography Licensing
All real estate photographs are copyright © Soulhaven Creative Productions. Images are licensed (not sold) to the commissioning agency for use in marketing the specified property address only, for the duration of the active listing. Once the listing ends, the licence automatically terminates. Any further commercial use requires purchase of a new one-time licence.
4. RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING
If you cancel a job at any point in the process I will still bill you for any work that I’ve already done at my hourly rate – and this includes things such as meetings, my planning, study and prep that has occured before a shoot.
In addition, if you reschedule or cancel a shoot within 3 days, I’ll charge you 100% of the shooting fee ($1,000 per day). If you reschedule a shoot day within 7 days, I’ll charge you 60% of the shooting fee ($600 per day). These are the standard terms as set out by the Screen Industry Guild of New Zealand.
If a shoot has to be rescheduled due to weather, equipment failure or other uncontrollable events there is no fee, but it will need to be rescheduled.
5. PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS
I’ll issue an invoice after delivering the final video. Please pay within seven days of issue.
You don’t pay until I’m done, so we don’t even need to talk refunds!
6. LIABILITY
I cannot be held responsible for any personal injury/accident or damage during a video shoot.
I’ll do my best to make something amazing, but it is your responsibility to catch any mistakes in the video and let me know during the draft process. Any fixes after the final video will be billed at my hourly rate.
